Rifle retains its scarce blued Metford pattern barrel with offset ramped front blade sight and rear ladder graduated to 1800 meters. Forward volley sight is retained while the rear has been removed. Early MK II action without safety catch dated "1893" and marked with the cypher of Queen Victoria. Standard walnut military stocks. Brass tool trap butt plate bears " V / 7. LL. / 87" unit marking. No cleaning rod present. CONDITION: Good. Rifle retains significant portions of arsenal blue thinning to brown patina. Stocks have been lightly cleaned with an added coat of finish and scattered impressions. Very poor bore as original Metford rifling was especially susceptible to damage from Cordite ammunition. Fine mechanics.
