First successful repeating pump shotgun invented and produced by Spencer, then bought out by military dealer Francis Bannerman. Barrel has Spencer patent 1882 legend while left side of frame is stamped "F. BANNERMAN NEW YORK 1890", where they were made until 1907. More common 12 ga with Damascus barrel, checkered brown composite forearm, solid frame, set trigger, checkered walnut round knob stock with gutta percha butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. About 40% pattern on barrel. All metal has soft gray patina. Forearm is excellent and free of cracks. Stock very good with thin checkering, usual impressions, some scars, and a small chip. Small chip on butt plate at base. Tang (metal) is cracked. Action and set trigger. Bore is scored. Unusual and hard-to-find shotgun.
