Locks and barrel stamped with Tryon Philadelphia retailer but both have Birmingham proofs. Early exposed double hammer market gun features fine light engraved side lock actions, double triggers, 36" browned barrels. Only the barrels have visible serial numbers. Features checkered walnut round knob stock with smooth steel shotgun butt plate and checkered splinter forearm with ebony inset. CONDITION: Metal has no original finish and is brown patina with scattered age spots and freckling. Stock is excellent with fairly crisp checkering, solid, with usual scars and impressions. Forearm is just as nice. Lock-up is tight. Both hammers work fine. Even bores are fairly crisp. Release lever looks like period replacement. Very nice solid 8-bore market gun.
