Left barrel is a 12 gauge, while right barrel measures about .40 caliber and is most likely a 40-50 Sharps Straight, with a custom manual extractor to catch the rim of the cartridge. The end has a capped threaded extension for a silencer. A rifle type sporting rear and front sight were added. Other features are standard for this model shotgun to include lifter, exposed hammers, double triggers, straight grip walnut stock, and splinter forearm. The work is professional and may even have been performed by Remington as the extractor is precise as is fit of liner to barrel wall. CONDITION. Metal is all smooth gray patina. Wood has been refinished long ago, is slightly shy to metal, especially at smooth butt plate. There is a hairline wrist crack. Both hammers are functional but left firing pin sticks. Remington barrel legends are strong. Interesting early gun.
