A. H. Fox formed his first manufacturing venture in Baltimore in 1898, selling his interest to the Baltimore Arms Company in 1900. It is believed that very few guns were made during this early period. Twist steel browned barrels with manual extractors. Matching numbers. Features a hammerless boxlock action, double triggers, checkered walnut round knob stock, checkered splinter forearm, and checkered gutta percha butt plate. CONDITION. Excellent. Crisp brown twist pattern finish, case color action turned shiny with some pattern, Stock is excellent with normal impressions and handling marks. Checkering is strong on both stock and forearms. Lock-up is tight. Bores are clean with light scoring. Strikers do not engage. Very rare Baltimore-made A.H. Fox Gun Co. shotgun.
