Introduced in 1864 alongside the old model pocket pistol, as the first guns produced by Stevens. Only around 1000 were made in .30 RF chambering. 3" half octagon tip up barrel stamped on top flat "J STEVENS & CO. VEST POCKET PISTOL / CHICOPEE FALLS MASS.". Blued spur trigger iron frame with unique fish tail styled butt. Grips are smooth 2-piece rosewood. CONDITION: Very good. Pistol retains traces of original finish in protected areas, the balance a chemically turned brown patina. Grips are very fine with only a few minor marks. Bore has worn but visible rifling with some cleaned oxidation spots. Fine mechanics and tight lock up. No front sight present.
