4th Model carbine manufactured circa 1882. Standard 20" round barrel with full length magazine tube retained by a pair of barrel bands, faint 2-line address, barleycorn front sight, and 2-leaf rear. Iconic brass frame with saddle ring. Replacement walnut forend. Straight grip walnut stock with steel crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Fair. Barrel displays an even brown gray patina. Worn receiver exhibiting a mellow golden patina. Forend is very good with some scattered marks. Stock likewise has only scattered marks, a possible original replacement. Lower tang screw is replaced. Abraded bore with visible rifling. Good mechanics.
