Perhaps East Tennessee. Rifled octagon barrel with thin silver front sight and small iron notched rear sight. Percussion lockplate stamped "C. BIRD & Co. / PHILADA / WARRANTED". Partially figured maple stock with brass nosecap and lock retaining screw escutcheon. Iron trigger guard. Very nice three-piece period brass repair secured by handmade iron screws to repair a period break in wrist. Complete with its original wooden ramrod. CONDITION: Untouched and as-found. Barrel retains a pitted brown surface. Lock retains a grey/brown surface with some corrosion, does not hold on half-cock. Wood shows some cracks and chips from use. Brass has a nice mellowing mustard patina. A nice pistol with attractive repairs.
