According to the Colt Factory archive letter, this gun left the factory as a .41 Colt with a 4 - 1/2" barrel. It was blue with stocks not listed. It was shipped to Norvell, Shapleigh Hardware Company in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 1, 1905 in a shipment of 5 guns. Large half moon front sight with a V notch rear sight. Six shot fluted cylinder and two piece hard rubber grips. The grips are not original to this gun. It had a one piece grip on it at some point. The grip pin is missing from the rear strap. Two line address on top of the barrel, "COLT' PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". Roll die caliber marking on the left side of the barrel, "COLT. D. A. 41". Three line patent dates on the left side of the frame next to the Rampant Colt Logo. Matching serial numbers observed on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. The backstrap is monogramed, "SHERIFF GUS LIVINGSTON YUMA CO." It comes with a folder of paperwork about Sheriff Livingston. CONDITION: This gun has factory blue finish in some of the protected areas. Grips are worn smooth from use. Bore has frosting in the lands and grooves. The action does not function correctly and needs work.
