Manufactured in 1878. Single line barrel address on top of the barrel, "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARFORD, CT. U.S.A.". Caliber designation on the left front bow of the trigger guard. Matching serial numbers observed on the bottom of the grip and on the back of the loading gate. The last three digits observed on the back of the cylinder. There is a name engraved on the right side of the frame,"-GEO- / SCHLIEFER". This is an aftermarket engraving. Vintage two piece ivory grips. The cylinder bushing has been trimmed down. The lanyard loop has been removed and the hole has been filled. CONDITION: This gun retains virtually all of the aftermarket applied nickel finish. The bore is dark with well defined lands and grooves. The grips show age cracks and are turning a deep yellow color.
