WACA, George Dillman of Wyoming Armory, Mike Hunter, master restorer, and Dennis McDonald, master engraver, teamed up to present this stellar rifle. All proceeds from this gun will go to WACA, the Winchester Arms Collectors Association. This rifle was received in the warehouse on December 31, 1879, and shipped on May 17, 1880. It was restored to as-new condition and is simply stunning. It is a deluxe model with straight grip, hand checkered in H style by Dennis McDonald, with XXX quality walnut stocks and case color frame, hammer, lever, nose cap, and butt plate. All frame screws are nitre blue. The thumbprint style dust cover is blue, as is the rail. Full octagon barrel and full tube magazine with crisp two-line Winchester legend. The rear sight is stamped 1876 and is the ladder style with knife blade front. The hammer, lever, nose cap, and butt plate are beautifully hand engraved in foliate arabesque scroll. The loading gate is nitre blued. The brass follower is stamped 45-60. CONDITION. Shows as new with light handling. The restoration is masterfully done in as fine a quality as those done at the factory during the 19th century. The action is smooth. The bore is strong and bright. Bid on an outstanding rifle and help out a great organization.
