In the style of a Revolutionary War period Moravian rifle. Swamped browned octagonal barrel inscribed "D.E. King" on top flat. Early style rear iron sight with long shaped foliate finial. Unmarked lock with stepped and molded tail section. Set trigger. Early style brass furniture including an engraved buttplate tang and sidplate with a dog pursuing a hog. Fine highly figured tiger maple stock of Moravian form and accented with brass wire inlay. Carved with incised foliate scrolls around barrel tang and ramrod entry ferrule. Sliding wooden patchbox lid with brass wire inlay. Iron sling swivels. Brass tipped wooden ramrod. CONDITION: Very good. Lock crisp and functions well.
