Manufactured between 1894 and 1904 per Westley Richards' website. Dovetail lump barrels with a bead front sight on a narrow, tapering, smooth concave game rib, engraved towards breech "Westley Richards & Co, England". Barrel flats with modern British nitro proofs for a 2 - 3/4" chambered gn with a nominal .729 IBD, at 3 - 1/4 tons per square inch; faint "(Crown) / R" and to other fiant proofs, that look like "88 / 1" in a circle. Bottom of tubes with "PG", older Birmingham proof, and "8417" on bottom of left tube, "19503" on right. Splinter forearm with horn tip, Deely latch release, and checkered in point pattern. Exterior engraved with English scrollwork. Droplocks numbered and marked with orientation "L" and "R" in gold. Action engraved with English scroll and "WESTLEY RICHARDS" inlaid in gold; scalloped back action. Classic Westley Richards hinged toplever, automatic safety with "SAFE" inlaid in gold ahead of slide. Blued bottom metal with total coverage of scrollwork. Blued trigger guard with scrollwork and strapwork edges, protects a single mechanical trigger with barrel selector abutting guard for a right handed shooter; tang is two colors, with area around serial number significantly plumer than balance. Tight, straight grained walnut stock with point pattern checkering about the wrist, with silver vanity plate at toeline, and terminating in a black line spacer and accelerator pad. CONDITION: Very good as restored. Barrels with virtually all of a good reblueing, with some handling marks, legends slightly softened. Action polished bright with some pinprick oxidation visible in recesses, engraving good, somewhat softened. Stocks are very good with some handling marks and impressions, but solid and free of cracks or chips. Mechanically fine, left ejector needs attention and does not throw snapcap, bores are very good with some trace evidence of use.
