Circa 19th Century George Woodhead Sheffield bowie knife that features a 7 - 1/4" clip point blade with a 4 - 7/8" false edge. The obverse ricasso is marked "G. WOODHEAD / 36 HOWARD STREET / SHEFFIELD". Scattered freckling and blemishes, but the blade remains bright. Nickel silvered crossguard with nice patina. Coffin shaped handle with stag grip scales that are held in place with 4 pins on each side. An oval escutcheon highlights the obverse grip scale. The grip scales exhibit scattered blemishes and handling wear. Large pommel with ferocious lion exhibits patina and oxidation, especially on reverse side. Complete with its black leather scabbard that features creases and cracks. Silvered mounts with round stud on throat. Nice patina to mounts. CONDITION: Good.
