A beautiful contemporary longrifle made by Roland Cadle of Claysburg, Pennsylvania. Made in the Bucks County, Pennsylvania, style and architecture. Roland made this one-of-a-kind longrifle by creating and hand shaping the butt plate, patchbox, trigger guard, sideplate, ramrod pipes, nose cap, and decorations, including inlay, entirely from cow horn. Roland was the founder of the Honourable Company of Horners and is a Master Horner. He has spent his entire life making powder horns and other fine horn products fashioned after 18th century American and European items. Roland could not resist using decorative cow horn to create this rare and wonderful longrifle. The longrifle is in as new condition and without a doubt a rare creation made by a very talented hornsmith. This is a rare opportunity to own a longrifle made by Roland Cadle and is likely your only opportunity to own a longrifle made entirely using horn to make the decorations and hardware. CONDITION: Excellent except for a shrinkage crack 29-5/8" back from muzzle. PROVENANCE: Gordon Barlow Collection.
