Long 2-stage barrel engraved on top three flats of back section and inlaid with brass highlights, crown over "AC" maker's cartouche in brass square towards breech. Ornate lock chased with hunting scenes and cock decorated with gold inlays. Ornate engraved and chased brass mounts with many grotesque faces. Relief carved fruitwood stock with evidence of early American use with large iron rosehead nail to hold a crack at worst and initials "RC" deeply and crudely carved into bottom of buttstock. CONDITION: Front 42" of forestock professionally restored, sideplate a replacement. A very fine and early longarm.
