A very nice complete ensemble with a bayonet with New Jersey marked frog hanger, a "WATERVILLE" marked brown leather cartridge box with "NJ" oval brass plate on front and the "NJ" marked rifle. The rifle is of standard 1884 configuration. Breech stamped "N.J." on left side. Stock marked on left side with encircled "N.J." and "SWP / 1889". Behind trigger guard is the encircled script "P". CONDITION: Barrel and mounts retain generous amounts of original blue finish, some areas fleshed or turned to brown. Mechanism excellent and bore excellent. Stock shows some wear and scattered marks from use and denting. Markings are excellent. A chip is missing on right side of barrel tang. Cartidge box very good with some crazing and minor flaking. Bayonet good.
