6 - 1/2" barrel with a Sheared front sight and adjustable U notch flat top rear sight. Distinct checkering across top of barrel rib and top strap of frame. "SMITH & WESSON" on left side of barrel, "S.& W. .357 MAGNUM" on right. Frame has the later S&W trademark on right side of frame. Narrow case colored hammer and trigger. Magna grips. Serrated grip straps with two horizontal lines cut into top of rear strap. Registration number 3710 inside crane recess. Right grip scale numbered "55940" on interior. CONDITION: Very good, metal retaining the vast majority of the factory blue finish, with some handling marks through to silver scattered throughout, mostly at barrel, fewer marks on frame. Front sight has been professionally replaced. Stocks are very good with handling marks from use but no cracks or chips. Mechanically fine with a turn line about the cylinder, bore is excellent, bright and shiny with sharp rifling. The Registered Magnum is legendary amongst revolver aficionados for their craftsmanship, which was so high that Smith & Wesson backed them with a lifetime warranty.
