Dated "1918" with early, 3-didgit "427" serial number, this example was produced in the first year of mass production. After purchasing some Colt 1911s for naval and army use, Norway licensed production as the Model 1914 with slight modification. Just over 22,000 were produced prior to German occupation in 1940. Of standard configuration with blued finish, 5" barrel, half moon front sight, drift adjustable rear sight, extended takedown, and 2-piece truncated diamond checkered grips. No visible import marking. Matching numbers observed throughout. Complete with 4 lanyard loop base magazines, rare leather 3-cell carrier, and crown over "H.V." inspected flap holster. CONDITION: Very good overall. Pistol retains the vast majority of its arsenal blue with some edgewear and thinning. Grips have some finish loss and wear but no sign of major distress. Very good, bright bore with well defined rifling. Fine mechanics. Holster and magazine pouch are very good overall with some expected scuffs and wear. A great, early example with hard to find accessories.
