After Suhl was occupied by American forces in 1945, an estimated 245 additional Luger pistols were assembled at the Krieghoff factory under American guard. Initially intended to be presents for American soldiers, many of these pistols were sold at the PX stores. As is characteristic for these post war guns, the low 3 digit "155" serial number is hand stamped in a large font on the front of the frame and the left side of the upper assembly. Pistol is finished in attractive polished blue with strawed small parts. Fitted with an eagle "135" marked Mauser barrel, as is sometimes seen on these parts clean up guns. Receiver and frame have correct late war Krieghoff proofs but no inspection mark. Toggle is unmarked, as is often seen. "GESICHERT" marked safety. Grips are checkered black plastic. Complete with a blued "fxo" code plastic bottom magazine numbered "166" on the spine. CONDITION: Excellent. Approximately 98% finish with a hint of muzzle wear and a few handling marks. Excellent straw. Grip screws likewise display fine, vibrant nitre blue. Grips rate very good with some flattened points. Very fine, bright bore. Fine mechanics. An outstanding example of a very scarce Krieghoff Luger variation.
