Very nice example of a cased Japanese Order of the Rising Sun 2nd Class. The 2nd Class order is comprised of a large neck order and massive breast star, each with 8 points. Breast star exhibits a pleasing patina with traces of gilding remaining on the inner rays. Reverse is marked and complete with functioning pin. Neck with nice enamel with gilding on rays. Ribbon in place with some fading but remains intact. The award set is contained within a fitted, black lacquered wood case with functioning hinge and catch. Handling wear is exhibited on the case. CONDITION: Very good.
