AGS CERTIFIED #11219. SST. A desirable C. 1930 die cut tin sign from Red Hat featuring the iconic logo. This sign was not made in a factory but rather most likely made at a filling station by hand. CONDITION: The field of this sign shows heavy areas of paint loss but still shows great patina throughout. There are a variety of mounting holes scattered throughout the field as well. The back shows evidence of wear consistent with this sign being hung outside with three horizontal mounting strips along the back side. These strips are no longer present but the outlines can be seen in the paint. The outer edges of the sign show evidence of being hand cut. In total, this is a desirable piece from an early and scarce brand of gasoline that was hand made with great folk art subject matter (SCORE AUTHENTIC).
