Manufactured 1893 per serial number. Dovetail lump chain Damascus barrels with a mushroom bead front sight on solid, concave, matte rib, with "PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL." with flanking arrows. Rib extension, and dressed with a double chip pattern at breeches. Barrel flats with Parker proofs, lump marked for a No. 2 size frame with serial number on left side of lump. Splinter forearm with reinforced tip and Deely latch release, checkered in a double diamond point pattern about the latch, with wrigglework engraving and "PATD. MAR. 26. 1878"; interior iron number "88896". Boxlock action with typical G grade engraving of mallards, grouse, and quail in vignette, supported by strapwork and scroll. Action flats with patent dates, serial number, frame size, and G designation. Double triggers protected by a flat bottom trigger guard with serial number on tang, automatic safety with "SAFE" engraved ahead of slide. Walnut stock with point-and wave pattern checkering about the wrist, constructed with side panels, pistol grip with a hard rubber grip cap, badge-shaped German silver escutcheon on toeline, and a dog's head hard rubber buttplate. Stock is cast off for a left handed shooter, cast on for a right. In a cavas wrapped leather tabbed case with pair snapcaps and lined in rich forest green. CONDITION: Barrels very good with strong, well defined Damascus twist, some light handling marks and scratches throughout, with traces of browning in protected areas, and mossing on right barrel towards muzzle. Forearm very good with minor marks, free of cracks or chips, cleaned to silver on exterior. Action with the majority of the fading case colors, with silvering to carry point and sharp edges, retaining better color in recessed areas. Stocks are good with some additional finish added over bumps and impressions, with a smoothed and blended chip at toe. Mechanically fine, bores are very good, largely bright and shiny, with a few small scattered pits. Case very good, relined.
