Circa 1929 per serial number. 27 - 1/2" chopper lump barrels with bead front sight on a depressed, slightly concave, smooth rib, signed"COGSWELL & HARRISON Ltd "EXTRA QUALITY VICTOR EJECTOR" 168, Piccadilly, London". Underside with Purdey style assisted opener, and British nitro proofs for a choked 16 gauge with 2 - 1/2" chambers. Splinter forearm with Anson plunger release, point pattern checkering, engraved with acanthus scrollwork on exterior iron, interior with matching serial number. Holland & Holland pattern hand detachable sidelocks, with English rose and scroll engraving. Action flats with serial number and view proofs. Non-automatic safety with "SAFE" inlaid in gold ahead of slide. Double triggers protected by a right hand rolled trigger guard engraved en suite, with serial number on tang. Nicely streaked and grained walnut stock with teardrops, checkered in two panels of point pattern about the wrist, with a vacant brass oval at toe line, and a serrated butt. In a leather wrapped brass tabbed case with pair snapcaps, cleaning tools, oil pot, 2-piece wiping rod, and canvas bag; lid with C&H trade label, embossed "R.R.S" on lid. CONDITION: Very good, benefits from a full refurbishment to metal with some handling marks and finishes thinning to sharp edges. Stock with heavier marks from the field. Mechanically fine, bores are very good with some frosting ahead of chambers, ejectors are strong and in time.
