Per the included factory letter, this pistol began as a blued 5" .45 ACP pistol with unlisted stocks and factory engraving, sold to Rodriguez Juarez and Company, address unavailable, and shipped to A. Combaluzier, Mexico City, Mexico, on October 5th, 1923, as part of Colt Factory Order 7837/1, in a shipment of 1 gun. Current configuration is a tall blade front sight, with an adjustable square notch rear sight that appears to have taken from a revolver, as it is mounted to a rib that runs to just behind the ejection port. Barrel with polished hood, devoid of markings. Gun has approximately B class coverage of floral scroll, with lined borders and ornamental accents on front strap, and slide chin. Small parts comprised checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety, checkered slide release with milled relief cut, checkered magazine release, long smooth milled trigger, short grip safety, and smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Fully checkered walnut grips, two tone magazine with "COLT / 45 AUTO" on base. CONDITION: Very good as professionally restored, Turnbull quality. Some mild handling marks and thinning to sharp edges, primarily muzzle. Legends are slightly softened in areas; engraving has been retraced and serial number refreshed at the time of the refinishing. Stocks excellent with some minor handling marks and wear. Mechanically fine, bore is good with strong visible rifling and mild oxidation. A well restored example.
