Manufactured during the first year of production in 1850 with desirable early silver plated sqaureback trigger guard. Additional features include 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel, New York address, small brass blade front sight, naval engagement scene rolled percussion cylinder, and 1-piece varnished walnut grips. Accompanied by an older homemade leather holder. CONDITION: Very good overall. Gun displays an even even frosted gunmetal gray patina. Trigger guard retains significant portions of mellow silver plate, the grip straps have been cleaned to golden toned brass. Grips show some finish loss and wear, but are otherwise very good. Strong bore with some black powder abrasion. Fine mechanics. Mating numbers observed throughout, the wedge a renumbered replacement.
