Gettysburg era standard issue military rifled musket. Lock is stamped 1863 with eagle and US Springfield . Right side of barrel breech has VP proofs. Standard 1863 rear sight. Period metal ramrod. Full length walnut stock with no visible cartouche stamps. Metal finished in the white. Comes with US stamped bayonet. CONDITION. Very good. Metal is a smooth brown patina with some spotting. . All legends are crisp with exception to breech area of barrel which shows typical black powder erosion from firing. Wood is excellent with usual scattered dings and dents. The rear barrel band is loose. Action works and the nipple is intact. Bore has not been cleaned in a century and shows as rough. This is a true Civil War survivor.
