Very nice example of a World War I US Army Model 1917 Trench knife with original scabbard. Standard Model 1917 configuration with triangular shaped blade, wood grip with finger grooves, and D guard with 7 pyramid projections. Blade exhibits generous amounts of original finish with typical drag lines. The guard is crisply marked "U.S. / L.F. & C. / 1917" and also exhibits generous finish with scattered blemishes and light areas of surface rust. Nice color to wood grip with nice graining and blemishes from handling. Complete with its green painted leather scabbard with iron mounts. Visibly stamped "JEWELL 1918" on green leather, mounts marked "M.S.". Scabbard is in equal condition to knife, with great leather that exhibits light blemishes and mounts with pleasing patina. CONDITION: Very good.
