Wake Up America is a rare and seldom encountered World War I recruitment poster that was used by the United states in 1917. The image depicts the female personification of the United States, Colombia napping on a front porch, sitting in a rocking chair with the Frontier in the background. James Montgomery Flagg created the image to suggest that the United States would soon be awakened to the war’s threat to free civilization in Europe. Flagg became very well known after producing the image for "Uncle Sam Wants YOU!". The poster is nicely preserved in a frame that measures approximately 43" x 29". Fold lines are slightly visible with wear around the edges and scattered blemishes throughout that do not detract from the vibrant colors. CONDITION: Good.
