Manufactured in the last 10 years by the new Providence Tool Co. from an original Swiss Peabody receiver into a fine long range rifle. Limited production, this example numbered "0025". Target crowned heavy weight blued octagon barrel chambered in .45 - 1/10" (.45-70) with wind gauge front sight and long range Vernier rear. Receiver is attractively case hardened and marked on the left with the original manufacture information within a scroll. Right side inscribed with "What Cheer" designation with some light flourishes. Double set triggers. Checkered Schnabel tipped figured walnut splinter forend. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with good figure and cheekpiece. Case hardened, checkered steel butt plate. CONDITION: Excellent with only light handling marks. Mirror bore. Good mechanics, set trigger needs some adjustment. A very nice 19th-century style long range rifle.
