DSP. A wonderful example of this C. 1950's double sided porcelain sign from Platolene 500 gasoline featuring a wonderful checkered flag graphic. CONDITION: Side 1 remains exceptionally clean with great color and gloss. There are a few small porcelain chips in the outer field, as well as, a few light areas of discoloration visible in the white sections of the "500." The outer edges are clean and the mounting holes at the bottom show light wear. One non-factory mounting hole has been added in the bottom center (SCORE 91). Side 2 shows a few white patches in the white sections of the field that are slightly discolored and brighter than the surrounding areas. This was likely a factory flaw. There are a few surface scuffs and porcelain chips in the field too. The outer edges remain nice with minor wear to the two mounting holes at the bottom (SCORE 87). This sign comes with a nicely made steel ring for easy hanging.
