Manufactured from 1863 to 1875, this example inspected for martial service. Finished in polished blue. Standard 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel marked on the top flat with 3-line "NEW MODEL" address. Small blade front sight and frame notch rear. Trigger guard constructed of silver plated brass. Grips are 2-piece oil finished walnut, the left panel stamped with a faint cartouche. Inside of left grip also neatly scratched "H. WINKLEBLACK JR", in need of further research. Matching numbers observed on frame and barrel, replacement cylinder numbered "6995". Revolver is also accompanied by an attractive foliate tooled leather left handed slim jim holster. CONDITION: Fine. Revolver retains significant portions of factory blue fading to patina with some cleaned, older oxidation spotting. Trigger guard retains significant portions of its age darkened silver, giving way to mellow brass. Grips have some light marks. A sliver of loss present at the left heel. Strong bore with some black powder abrasion in the grooves. Crisp mechanics. Holster is good overall.
