Cabot is a legendary manufacturer of 1911s, particularly famous for using unusual materials; in 2015, they made the famous "Big Bang Set", a mirrored pair made from a meteorite, and S.P. Fjestad called a pair of Jones Deluxes "the finest set of non-engraved semi-automatic pistols ever manufactured in the United States." Early frame with the frames were still using the Penn United Technologies rollmark. Classic Jones with rich blacked finish, Novak three dot white sights, distinct front and rear cocking serrations, right side of slide engraved in cursive "Jones 1911". Distinct three star lightened trigger used by Cabot. Smooth burl walnut grips, and checkered straps. In the Cabot branded hard case with red sock to protect finish, unpicked pluck-and-pick foam, test fired case, Cabot bushing wrench, Masterlock cable lock, and Cabot manual. CONDITION: Excellent, NOS or equivalent, with virtually all of the rich factory blacking remaining. Some superficial handling marks, most noted on barrel bushing and grip safety. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent, with some minor frosting at the edges of lands near chamber. Given the state of the breech face, it is distinctly possible this pistol has been test fired only.
