This gun was made in 1863 and was the second most widely used rifle by both the North & South during the Civil War. Standard issue. Lock has the Crown with Tower 1863 stamp. Stamped with Birmingham proofs on left side barrel. There are several cartouche stamps at bottom of wrist. Standard features include full length walnut stock, correct rear sight, brass furniture, three bands, two swivels, cleaning rod. CONDITION: Very good. All iron hardware is smooth brown patina. Brass has toned. Legends are crisp. Stock has small crack on right forearm and left side near forward lock retaining screw. Comes with original chain attached nipple protector. Fine working order. Bore shows well defined rifling with some abrasion.
