Manufactured by Nagoya from 1943 to 1945 for elite paratroop units with a central takedown pin allowing the rifle to be broken down into 2 halves. Standard length barrel with protected blade front sight and anti-aircraft ladder rear. Receiver marked on the top with a lightly defaced chrysanthemum and Type 2 designation. Full length military wood stock with standard mounts. Matching serial numbers observed on receiver, bolt, and front band. Matching "493" assembly number on takedown mechanism components. Complete with a straight quillion bayonet and reproduction cleaning rod. CONDITION: Good. Metal components have faded to an even oxidized dark brown. Stocks have expected dings throughout. Fine bright bore.
