One of just 2,238 Model 70s manufactured in 1936, the first year of production. Type I configuration with tapered blue barrel, early hooded Lyman 31W front sight, 22G rear, Lyman 48 peep sight, correctly blued clover tang receiver, Type I safety, and checkered walnut stock with blued checkered steel butt plate. Underside of the bolt marked with the full matching serial number in electropencil. CONDITION: Very Good. Very fine bore showing little, if any use. A fine and rare example of an American classic.
