Barry Lee Hands is an acknowledged FEGA Master Engraver, and has done work for many notable companies including Colt, Winchester, and John Rigby & Co, and has written for numerous publications on the subject and history of engraving. This is a Colt Series 70 that has been masterfully inlaid with gold in Barry's distinct thin line floral scroll, called his Renaissance Leaf, with his trademark gilded pearl grips, and gold washed small parts; even the bottom of the magazine has relief gold and inlaid "COLT 45 AUTO". When this pistol was completed in 2013, it reportedly contained over 1 ounce of gold. Barry's "hands" signature on the bottom of the mainspring housing. 3-dot Trijicon night sights. CONDITION: Excellent, very close to NOS, with Barry's black satin finish and masterful goldwork intact throughout. Some extremely minor marks, such as rubs in the stirrup cut, some wear to the rear sight, some flaking of the gold to the left side of the hammer, and some mild frosting to the bore, are the main indicators of "use". Mechanically fine, but due to the condition, we have elected not to disassemble this pistol.
