Manufactured circa 1865 at the close of the Civil War for martial service with inspector marks throughout. Finished in polished blue with a brass trigger guard. Standard 7 - 1/2" barrel with 3-line "NEW MODEL" address, small blade front sight, and frame notch rear. Grips are 2-piece oil finished walnut stamped on the left with a razor sharp "BH" Benjamin Hannis cartouche. Matching numbers observed on frame, barrel, and underside of grips. CONDITION: Near excellent. Revolver retains the vast majority of its original blued finish with areas of brown toning. Strong nitre blue displayed on the trigger. Traces of case color also present on hammer. Grips have only light impressions and 1 small chip. Excellent, mirror bore. Possibly unfired. A very nice example of a Civil War martial revolver.
