Per included factory research the serial number was applied to this rifle June 26, 1893, and it shipped from Winchester on December 14 of the same year in highly desirable .50-110 chambering. The 26" round barrel is marked at the breech "50 EX" and is mounted with a blade front sight and desirable platinum line 3-leaf express rear sight. Stocked in plain walnut with crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Good. Rifle displays an overall brown patina with some added finish and evidence of cleaned oxidation throughout, especially evident on the barrel. Stocks are fine with the usual nicks and impressions, a split at the toe, and some minor staining on the forend. Frosted bore with defined rifling throughout. Fine mechanics. Bolt appears to be a replacement. Winchester 1886s chambered in .50 Express are scarce in any condition and a must have for any Winchester collection.
