Manufactured by Eugene Lefaucheux, son of Casimir Lefaucheux, the famed inventor of the pinfire cartridge. Fitted with a blued round barrel marked on the top "INVo.v E. LEFAUCHEUX. BRTE PARIS". Tall bead front sight and hammer notch rear. Blued 6-shot cylinder. Single action with case hardened frame. Case hardened trigger guard and backstrap of classic form with faceted lanyard loop grip cap. Grips are 2-piece walnut. Revolver is housed in a portioned dovetailed hardwood case with conical bullet mold, round ball mold combination tool, measure. Case liner marked in gold "LEFAUCHEUX / A PARIS". CONDITION: Fine. Barrel assembly retains significant portions of blue fading to brown patina. Cylinder blue much stronger with some light freckling throughout. Strong traces of case color patterning displayed on the frame and grip cap, the balance patina with some oxidation spots. Grips has some scattered impressions but rate very good overall. Fine bright bore. Cylinder does not advance when action is operated. Case has wear and scattered marks. Lock escutcheon is not present. Tools have some mild oxidation.
