Manufactured in Liege circa 1860s or 1870s by "ROCOUR", as marked on the cylinder face. Barrel and cylinder are finished in magnificent high polish blue with finely executed engraved foliates on the lug and over each chamber of the cylinder. Frame likewise engraved with "E. LEFAUCHEUX" patent marking on the recoil shield. Double action operated by a folding trigger. Grips are nicely checkered walnut. Revolver is housed in an attractive French fit hardwood presentation case with cleaning rod and turnscrew. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrel and cylinder retain bountiful amounts of brilliant blue with some edgewear and other minor loss. Frame and grip straps also retain significant portions of blue, areas fading to brown patina. Grips have some moderate wear and a few light marks. Strong bright bore with some cleaned oxidation. Crisp mechanics. Case is very good overall with some scattered marks and an area of finish loss on the lid. Liner has faded to brown but displays well.
