Beautifully made in French 19th-century style. The deep, lustrously nitre blued 6-shot cylinder is chambered for 2mm Pinfire ammunition and must be removed to reload. Hammer, spring, and trigger are also finished in beautiful nitre blue. The German silver band is engraved "LE PETIT PROTECTOR" on the underside along with a wreath pattern. This example is accompanied by a French fit hardwood display case with lid escutcheon engraved "LE PETIT / PROTECTOR" around a star motif. Case includes screwdriver combination tool and 3 rounds of spent ammunition. CONDITION: Very fine overall. Ring retains the majority of its brilliant blue with light wear and spotting. Band has some patina oxidation spots as well but is otherwise good. Case shows some expected marks from handling. A lovely piece.
