Numbered 225499P, this example falls well within a known block of 12,000 Walther PP pistols produced from 1941 into 1942 for the Luftwaffe, 216,000P and 229,000P. It is well known Luftwaffe pilots often favored compact Walther PP and PPK pistols. This example is finished in polished blue with standard slide legend on left. Eagle over "N" proofed on barrel and slide. "WaA359" waffenamts also present on slide and frame. Grips are standard checkered black plastic with "WALTHER" banners. No visible import marks. As is correct for Luftwaffe contract pistols, matching numbers are observed on the right side of slide and frame, as well as on the magazine base. Also accompanied by an additional nonmatching but numbered Luftwaffe contract magazine and "WaA668" stamped brown leather holster, named to "MARTZ" on the inside. CONDITION: Very good overall. Pistol retains approximately 90% original finish with some edgewear and areas of loss on the right side of the slide and grip straps. Grips have only light marks. Very fine, mirror bright bore. Fine mechanics. Holster is likewise fine with some mild surface scuffing.
