Manufactured in 1943. Features include serrated front sight, rounded square notch rear sight, knurled short trigger, knurled slide lock, knurled thick tab safety, knurled spur hammer, checkered magazine release, and knurled rounded mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Mounted with checkered Coltwood plastic grips. Accompanied by unmarked magazine and 1943 dated U.S. marked Graton & Knight Company leather holster. Slide is marked with Colt manufacture panel on left side with "P" proofmark near rear sight. Barrel is marked with "COLT 45 AUTO" near lug and "P" proofmark on left side of lug. Right side of frame is marked with crossed cannons with silvering where the stamping broke through the finish, US Property marking, and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY". Left side of frame is marked with "G.H.D." cartouche and "P" proofmark. CONDITION: Excellent+, retaining nearly all of the original Parkerizing with scattered minor handling marks. Grips show no major signs of distress. Mechanically fine. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Holster shows honest wear and storage related verdigris.
