Per included factory research the serial number was applied to this rifle July 19, 1904, and it shipped out August 23 of the same year. Rifle sports a blued 26" round barrel chambered in .38-55 with combination front sight and semi buckhorn rear. An additional folding rear aperture sight is mounted to the tang. Polished blue sold frame with case hardened lever and hammer. Stocks are plain walnut mounted with a blued nose cap and brass Swiss butt plate. Factory records do not list the sights or Swiss butt plate, but otherwise confirm configuration. CONDITION: Very good for its age. Barrel and magazine tube retain over 90% of their factory blue, some mild thinning and spotting present. The majority of the original polished blue is retained on the receiver with areas thinning to brown patina and an area of cleaned oxidation to the right of the bolt. Sides of lever display strong case colors, the balance faded to brown patina. Hammer likewise retains significant portions of muted case color. Stocks are fine with the usual marks and some loss to the original finish. Sharp, bright bore. Fine mechanics.
