Manufactured in 1944. Features include serrated front sight, rounded top square notch rear sight, knurled slide lock, knurled short trigger, checkered magazine release, knurled thick tab safety, knurled spur hammer, and serrated rounded mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Mounted with checkered Coltwood grips. Accompanied by unmarked Colt magazine and a 1944 dated Enger-Kress shoulder holster. Left side of slide is marked with Colt manufacture marking and "P" marking near rear sight. Barrel is marked "COLT 45 AUTO" near lug with "P" proofmark on lug. Right side of frame is marked with crossed cannons with silvering where the stamp went through the finish, US Property marking, and "M1911A1 U.S. Army". Left side of frame is marked with "G.H.D" cartouche and "P" proofmark. CONDITION: Excellent, with the vast majority of original Parkerizing remaining with scattered light handling marks and wear beginning to occur at front and backstraps. Grips show no major signs of distress. Mechanically fine. Bore is frosted with sharp rifling. Holster is excellent.
