71cm nagasa of classic shinogi zukuri form with chu kissaki, ha agari kurijiri nakagojiri with single mekugi ana, ubu, katanamei signed "Kanemoto godai-me Kanenao", katte sagari yasurime. Per Sesko's index, only one smith signed this way, circa Kanbun, in Mino; the sugata certainly suggests Kanbun. He lived in Minos Akasaka and considered himself fifth generation Kanemoto. Tight mokume hada with some chikei, and classic Mino sanbonsugi hamon with a notare hamon with kaeri fukai. Gold foil habaki with scratch decorations. In a modern shirasaya that fits well. CONDITION: Excellent, in polish, with some very minor handling marks and a few very minor ware. Shirasaya very good. This is a very good example of a Mino sword.
