69.8cm nagasa of shinogi zukuri form with iori mune, chu kissaki with maru boshi, kuri nakagojiri, and bohi. Jihada is a very tight ko itame, with some areas of masame and mokume burls. Suguha hamon with ashi and a gunome bump at monouchi and near hamachi on ura. Ubu, mumei, with kiri yasurime. Copper habaki with heavy crosshatching. Copper tsuba with a fierce oni on one side, and a man and his pig caught in a lightning storm, running under an umbrella; possibly of newer manufacture. Plain iron fuchi and kashira with blue tsuka ito and menuki in the form of fans. Plain black saya with iron sayajiri with inome intrusions. With a Japanese Art Swords Record of Sword attributing the sword Hizen Tadayoshi of Kansei period, which would be sixth generation. CONDITION: Blade is in good polish with some scratching and clouding towards kissaki and mossing at boshi. Mounts are good with some handling marks and rubs throughout, but solid. Saya relacquered with cracks along spine and belly, and chipping around the sayajiri.
