Ubu, mumei, with a 49.5cm nagasa in classic shinogi zukuri configuration with iori mune and kuri nakagojiri. Gunome hamon with sunagashi, mokume jihada. Hakikake boshi with a long kaeri. With NBTHK Hozon papers to Shinto Jumyo. Jumyo swords were particularly desirable as the name translates to "happy long life". Silver foil copper habaki with diagonal lines. Saya has brown lacquer and is slotted for both kogai and kozuka, which are made of copper and decorated with reeds. Fuchi, kashira, and menuki are also made of copper and decorated with reeds. Fuchi is signed "Hirata Harunari (Kao)", and there are NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon papers for the mounts. Kogai and kozuka both signed, looks like Tasujo Mitsumi? CONDITION: Blade is in good polish, with some spots of ware around mono-uchi. Some superficial scratching. Koshirae is very good with some handling marks, but retaining virtually all of their lacquer. Menuki with some rubbing to high edges. A good sword with a wonderful set of mounts.
