Circa 1934 per serial number. 28" barrels with the combination dovetail and chopper lump lumps, with white composite Bradley-style front sight and ivory mid bead on a solid, tapering, matte rib. Marked over the chambers with first variant of Winchester's Model 21 information, action barrel flats with serial number and Winchester proofs, underside of tubes with Winchester proofs and choke designations for Full in left barrel and Modified in right barrel. Short triangles of acanthus scroll at breech and muzzle, approximately 3/4" at muzzle and 1" at breech. Extractors, as often preferred by bird hunters who do not wish to leave spent shells on the ground. Beavertail forearm of a nicely grained walnut with wave pattern checkering surrounding a roller release and flanked by relief carved oak leaves and acorns on a stippled ground. Exterior iron engraved with floral scroll on a stippled ground, interior with serial number abutting slot, stamped "SHAW 82" in wood. Boxlock action with nicely executed scrollwork on a stippled ground en suite with iron, and accented by a vignette of pheasants over a fenced meadow scene, with pheasants executed in gold, right with a pair of quail flying over a meadow scene, also executed in gold, bottom with a pointer in gold on a meadowed scene. Trigger guard with "JPB" initials in gold over scroll en suite. Double triggers, automatic safety with "SAFE" engraved ahead of slide. Nicely fiddlebacked walnut stock with point pattern checkering about the wrist, and oak leaves and acorns en suite with forearm behind side panels. Stock ends in a basketweave Pachmayr pad. CONDITION: Barrels retain the vast majority of their custom finishes when upgraded, with some spotted oxidation throughout, mostly to left barrel tube and heavier areas under the forearm on right tube. Action very good with the vast majority of the finish remaining, some silvering and freckling at sharp edges, particularly rear of action. Stocks are very good with some handling marks but no cracks or chips. Mechanically fine, bores are very good with some mild frosting.
